Swansea Council have shared some disturbing news on their Facebook page today regarding a “BT Scam”.
Be extremely careful when dealing with anyone who calls you “claiming” to be from a Telecoms (i.e., TalkTalk) or IT company. Most reputable companies simply do not contact their customers in this way. This is the largest amount debited from a bank account that JPC have heard about. Please watch out for this and other scams (including a fake Windows Defender Message scam).
